It is clear that the correct application of the laws of the game did not occur, resulting in sporting integrity being undermined.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We fully accept the pressures that match officials work under but these pressures are supposed to be alleviated, not exacerbated, by the existence and implementation of VAR.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/16\/76076387-12584899-image-a-4_1696259557784.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Curtis Jones leaves the pitch after receiving a red card in the first half of the match<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/16\/76076331-12584899-image-a-5_1696259566033.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Under FA regulations, any club that receives six or more cautions or dismissals will be fined<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It is therefore unsatisfactory that sufficient time was not afforded to allow the correct decision to be made and that there was no subsequent intervention.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;That such failings have already been categorised as &#8216;significant human error&#8217; is also unacceptable. Any and all outcomes should be established only by the review and with full transparency.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Following Liverpool&#8217;s 2-1 defeat to Spurs on Saturday, PGMOL admitted that Luis Diaz&#8217;s strike in the first half was incorrectly ruled out for offside.<\/p>\n<p>The refereeing body said in a statement:\u00a0&#8216;PGMOL acknowledge a significant human error occurred during the first half of Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool,&#8217; the statement began.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The goal but Luis Diaz was disallowed for offside by the on-field team of match officials.
