{"id":293338,"date":"2023-10-02T21:37:10","date_gmt":"2023-10-02T21:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/?p=293338"},"modified":"2023-10-02T21:37:10","modified_gmt":"2023-10-02T21:37:10","slug":"shane-lowry-hits-out-at-ryder-cup-course-marshal-in-comical-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/golf\/shane-lowry-hits-out-at-ryder-cup-course-marshal-in-comical-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Shane Lowry hits out at Ryder Cup course marshal in comical video"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Shane Lowry hits out at Ryder Cup course marshal in comical viral video, after the official tries to stop spectators from moving while the Irishman hit a shot<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Europe clinched the Ryder Cup, beating the USA 16.5 to 11.5 on Sunday in Rome<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Shane Lowry was seen in a comical video hitting out at a course marshal<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><b>The Irishman told the official that he was being loud while telling fans to be quiet<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shane Lowry was seen comically shutting down a course marshal at the Ryder Cup in a video posted on social media.<\/p>\n<p>The official had been trying to stop spectators at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club from moving behind the 36-year-old while he played a wedge shot on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 2019 Open champion was a pivotal member of Luke Donald&#8217;s victorious team, wining 1.5 points for Team Europe, drawing his singles match to three-time major champion Jordan Spieth.<\/p>\n<p>Among members of the crowd, there was a brilliant atmosphere at the tournament this weekend, with the first tee becoming a cauldron of noise as the players teed off with fans running into the grounds to secure their spot in the grand stand.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Patrons had been winding up Patrick Cantlay for refusing to wear his hat in a reported protest over a lack of pay for players at the Ryder Cup. Meanwhile, another fan was seen jumping into the lake on the 18th after Europe claimed victory.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/08\/76059363-12583399-image-a-1_1696232864046.jpg\" height=\"454\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Shane Lowry (middle) helped Team Europe clinch the Ryder Cup this weekend winning 1.5 points for Luke Donald&#8217;s side<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/08\/76059295-12583399-image-a-2_1696232877207.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Lowry was involved in a hilarious incident with a course marshal on Sunday telling the official to be quiet<\/p>\n<p>But with so much on the line, every shot mattered and while the marshal wanted to ensure Lowry had total silence to concentrate on getting the ball onto the green, Lowry hilariously hit back at the volunteer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As Lowry, who has six professional wins on the PGA Tour and European Tour in his career, addressed his ball, a course marshal, who was stood about five metres back from the Irishman in a group of fans was heard on camera saying: &#8216;Stand still, don&#8217;t move please!&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The crowd had already quietened down before the comment was made, with Lowry, who had been in the middle of a practice swing when the comment was made, turned to the marshal and comically said:\u00a0&#8216;You&#8217;re making more f***ing noise than anyone else.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>He turned back to the ball saying, Jesus,&#8217; in exasperation, before strutting away from the ball entirely and up towards the green.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lowry and Spieth went out as the third-last group on Sunday and battled throughout the day, with the American taking a three hole lead through five holes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lowy fought back, claiming two off the 30-year-old, bringing the game back to all-square on the back nine, before Lowry bit back at the end carding two birdies on the 16th and 17th to go 1 up into the 18th.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At that point in the day news had already reached Lowry that his good friend and team-mate Tommy Fleetwood had secured a guaranteed half-point for Europe, beating Rickie Fowler 3 &amp; 1.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But Spieth brought the match back to all-square, winning the final hole to halve the spoils.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It didn&#8217;t matter, though, with Europe clinching the Ryder Cup with a five-point victory 6.5-1.5.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The celebrations ensued after the match with Lowry and his team-mates hugging and cheering on the course while popping champagne bottles\u00a0before being seen on the team bus singing and drinking out of the Ryder Cup.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/08\/76042093-12583399-image-a-4_1696232891170.jpg\" height=\"425\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>It was Redemption in Rome for Luke Donald&#8217;s side after they were beaten in 2021 at Whistling Straits<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/08\/76060737-12583399-image-a-8_1696233113638.jpg\" height=\"425\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The celebrations started on the 18th with champagne spraying everywhere after Europe had officially been confirmed winners<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/02\/09\/76059373-12583399-image-a-22_1696233667952.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>But it was ultimately Europe&#8217;s weekend, with Luke Donald&#8217;s side winning 16.5-11.5<\/p>\n<p>After the match, a champagne soaked Lowry said winning the biennial tournament was a &#8216;dream come true.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;This is a dream come true for me and this is something that I&#8217;ve always wanted to achieve in this game,&#8217; the Irishman said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We didn&#8217;t get much going for us in Whistling Straits but I&#8217;m so proud of my team.
