Arsenal defender Kieren Tierney suffered a hamstring injury during Real Sociedad’s 3-0 win against Athletic Bilbao on Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After falling down in Mikel Arteta’s pecking order last season, the Scotland international opted for a move away from the Emirates Stadium, joining Soceidad on loan until the end of the season.<\/p>\n
But he may be ruled out for between 10-12 weeks, according to The Athletic, with the full-back being substituted after 25 minutes into the game against Bilbao.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It comes as a huge set-back in the 26-year-old’s hopes of getting more game time with the Spanish outfit.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Tierney joined Arsenal back in 2019, with the north London club paying \u00a325million to Celtic to acquire the promising defender, but his contract at the Emirates is set to expire in 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The full-back opted to leave Arsenal on loan this summer in a bid to get more game time after he had fallen down in Mikel Arteta’s pecking order\u00a0<\/p>\n

Since then, he’s totted up 124 appearances for the club, but has struggled in the past two seasons to assert himself as a regular starter in Arteta’s side.\u00a0<\/p>\n
His time at Arsenal has also been plagued by injury problems, though, with the defender having to undergo surgery on a hernia upon arriving at the Emirates Stadium, before missing three months of the season after dislocating his shoulder during a game against West Ham.\u00a0<\/p>\n
More recently, Tierney has suffered several knee and ankle problems that saw him miss a string of\u00a0matches during the 2021-22 season to undergo surgery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Speaking at his unveiling in Sociedad, the former Celtic man revealed his reason’s for leaving the Premier League side, saying: ‘I left because [Arsenal] last season I couldn\u2019t play a lot and what I wanted was to play a lot of games and I wanted to try to do it at Real Sociedad.<\/p>\n \u2018I don\u2019t have any problem with Arsenal. Knowing that Real Sociedad wanted to have me here, feeling all the love from the people here was very good.<\/p>\n \u2018Being in the Basque Country, having the experience of living here and playing in La Liga, is something I am very proud of.
