Manchester United are set to have their “worst Premier League season ever” according to a supercomputer.

Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils have endured a dreadful start to the campaign despite spending close to £200million on transfers in the summer. Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace handed the Dutchman the unwanted record of being the first United boss to lose four of his seven opening games since the Premier League’s inception in 1992/32.

United’s turbulent time off the field has been mirrored by poor results on it, with the side down in 10th place and seemingly already out of the title race. And the doom and gloom is set to continue according to a supercomputer’s prediction.

Data analysts at King Casino Bonus sought to predict the Premier League table come the end of the season. Unfortunately for United fans, their club has been tipped to end the campaign way down in ninth place, which would be the worst Premier League finish in the club’s storied history.

Their lowest ever finish until now was under David Moyes in 2013/14, the season after Sir Alex Ferguson stepped away. Moyes was sacked after 10 months in charge as Ryan Giggs took over as caretaker boss.

The new football season is nearly upon us and with 500 live games to watch, as well access to Cricket, Golf, F1, Boxing, NFL and the NBA across eight dedicated channels, Sky Sports is the only way to watch all the action.

Get Sky Sports from £22 a month

Should the supercomputer’s predictions come to light, we can’t imagine Ten Hag lasting the whole season either. It would mean another season without Champions League football, having been forced to play Europa League football last season before managing a third-place finish in 2022/23.

The end-of-season table mock-up shows the Red Devils only mustering up another 13 wins this term. The likes of Aston Villa, Brighton and West Ham are all tipped to finish in front.

To add further salt into the wounds, noisy neighbours Manchester City are expected to win their fourth consecutive title. Meanwhile, historic rivals Liverpool and Arsenal are predicted to finish second and third respectively.
