{"id":293815,"date":"2023-10-06T10:39:15","date_gmt":"2023-10-06T10:39:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/?p=293815"},"modified":"2023-10-06T10:39:15","modified_gmt":"2023-10-06T10:39:15","slug":"the-great-debate-should-the-liverpool-v-tottenham-match-be-replayed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/soccer\/the-great-debate-should-the-liverpool-v-tottenham-match-be-replayed\/","title":{"rendered":"THE GREAT DEBATE: Should the Liverpool v Tottenham match be replayed?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>THE GREAT DEBATE: Should the Liverpool v Tottenham match be replayed after the VAR disaster?<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A huge VAR howler cost Liverpool a goal in their 2-1 defeat to Spurs on Saturday<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Liverpool want the match replayed but not everyone is in agreeement\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has called for his side&#8217;s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham last Saturday to be replayed after an incredible VAR howler denied the Reds a goal.<\/p>\n<p>Luis Diaz&#8217;s\u00a0strike was disallowed by VAR Darren England, who wrongly believed the on-field decision had been a goal, so said &#8216;check complete&#8217; once he ascertained that the Colombia winger was onside.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Instead of a goal being awarded, the match resumed with a free-kick to Spurs. Referees&#8217; chiefs later admitted to a &#8216;significant human error&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool pressured the PGMOL to release the audio from the incident, which was eventually published on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Premier League rule L18 gives the organisation&#8217;s board the power to order a match to be replayed &#8216;if an appointed commission recommends such action&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>While it is thought unlikely that the game will be replayed, the VAR farce has sparked widespread debate among footballers, pundits and fans.<\/p>\n<p><span>So where do YOU stand on the debate?
