an Italian FA statement read.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/12\/19\/76487189-12624637-image-a-9_1697133716298.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Newcastle star Sandro Tonali was reportedly questioned by police at Italy&#8217;s training camp<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/12\/19\/76488017-12624637-image-a-30_1697135180671.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Aston Villa&#8217;s Nicolo Zaniolo has also been released from Italy&#8217;s national training camp\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Regardless of the nature of the acts, believing that in this situation the two players are not in the necessary condition to face the commitments scheduled in the next few days, the Federation has decided, also to protect them, to allow them to return to their respective clubs.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Italian prosecutors had confirmed on Wednesday that Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli is being investigated for\u00a0alleged illegal betting activities.<\/p>\n<p>Fagioli&#8217;s lawyers Luca Ferrari and Armando Simbari confirmed the investigation in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Our client is dealing with the matter responsibly, with a view to maximum transparency and collaboration with the ordinary and sporting judicial authorities,&#8217; Fagioli&#8217;s lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Nicolo is calm and fully focused on Juventus and the Serie A.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Italian authorities ban players from betting on football matches but not from other types of gambling.<\/p>\n<p>A player found to have bet on matches could face a ban of at least three years and fine under Italian Football Federation rules.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The investigation was first reported by\u00a0Fabrizio Corona, who was formerly known as Italy&#8217;s &#8216;king of the paparazzi&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Corona alleged on his\u00a0website Dillinger News that more players were involved in the investigation, later naming both\u00a0Tonali and\u00a0Zaniolo.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Tonali and Zaniolo are also betting,&#8217;
