Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has offered his support to Palestine through a post on his social media page.<\/p>\n
It comes amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine that has seen thousands of civilians lose their lives.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And now, United legend Cantona has offered his thoughts on the matter by sharing an image that was originally posted by a political activist.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Taking to Instagram, Cantona posted the picture and tagged Canadian-Lebanese author\u00a0Najwa Zebian – who had originally shared the post.<\/p>\n

The Instagram post read: ‘Defending the human rights of Palestinians does not mean you are pro-Hamas.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘Saying ‘Free Palestine’ does not mean you are anti-Semitic or ‘want all the Jews gone.\u00a0<\/p>\n
”Free Palestine’ means free Palestinians from the Israeli occupation that’s been robbing them their basic human rights for 75 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n
”Free Palestine’ means stop caging 2.3 million Palestinians in the world’s largest open air prison, half of whom are children.\u00a0<\/p>\n
”Free Palestine’ means end the apartheid imposed by the Israeli government.\u00a0<\/p>\n
”Free Palestine’ means give the Palestinians control over the basic infrastructure in their land’.<\/p>\n
Reports say 300 civilians have been killed in Israel with dozens taken hostage, while retaliatory attacks by Israeli forces have killed 313 in the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n
Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have been massing in preparation for a ground invasion of the Palestinian territory, but this was postponed at the last minute over the weekend amid suggestions they had received new intelligence about hostages taken by Hamas.<\/p>\n

Celtic fans recently held up banners that read ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘Victory to the Resistance’<\/p>\n
A number of demonstrations, within football, have already taken place since the conflict started – such as Mesut Ozil’s post on his own social media accounts.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Friday morning, Ozil posted on X, formerly Twitter, asking for an end to the war, which also showed his support for Palestine.<\/p>\n
His message read: ‘Praying for humanity. Praying for peace,’ the 34-year-old year wrote with two praying emojis and the Palestinian flag.<\/p>\n
Similarly, Celtic fans, prior to their Scottish Premiership clash with Kilmarnock, held up ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘Victory to the Resistance’ banners at Celtic Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n
