Cole Palmer has revealed he apologised after accidentally throwing his bottle at Mauricio Pochettino during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 21-year-old launched his drink after the Gunners scored their equaliser and thought nothing much of it.<\/p>\n
Little did he know that it would head in the direction of his manager and strike him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Now the youngster has joked that the Argentine better not drop him after the mishap.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He told Chelsea’s website: ‘When they scored their second goal I was getting a drink.\u00a0I went to throw the bottle away, as you do, but didn\u2019t look.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old joked that he hopes he will not lose his place in the team after the mishap\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I just saw it loop dead slow and hit the gaffer. I said sorry to him and apologised properly after the game. Hopefully he won\u2019t drop me for that!’<\/p>\n
Thankfully Palmer had already mitigated the risk of any punishment by scoring the opening goal from the penalty spot.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It came after a tug of war with Raheem Sterling for the ball, with the two playing a footballing version of pass the parcel over who would get to take the penalty.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After Palmer initially picked the ball up, Sterling took it off him and the ball only returned to the youngster after further debate.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Palmer converted from 12 yards after a controversial handball penalty\u00a0was given against William Saliba before\u00a0Mykhailo Mudryk doubled the Blues’ lead.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, the Gunners rained on the Stamford Bridge parade with two late goals from Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard to ensure the spoils were shared.<\/p>\n
Palmer has had a solid start to a seven-year deal at Chelsea after his surprise \u00a342.5million transfer from Manchester City.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Palmer converted from the penalty spot to give Chelsea the advantage in the first half<\/p>\n

He did have to tussle with Raheem Sterling over who would take the spot kick, but succeeded\u00a0<\/p>\n
Many thought he was going to assume a more prominent role at City after the exit of Riyad Mahrez and his goals in the European Super Cup and Community Shield.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, he has had to adapt to life in London and\u00a0has scored two penalties in his last two outings.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Palmer led the line against Arsenal, marking a shift from his usual wide position with Nicolas Jackson on the bench and Armando Broja out with a knee injury.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Despite their frustrations at the comeback, the result marked four games unbeaten for the Blues, which is a positive sign after a turbulent beginning to the campaign.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
