Manchester United's wage bill dropped by \u00a352million when compared to last season – but the numbers remain staggering.<\/p>\n
The mutual agreement between United and Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo saved the Red Devils \u00a316m in future wages as their overall outlay on player payments fell to \u00a3331.4m from \u00a3384m after other departures.<\/p>\n
United enjoyed record English record revenues of \u00a3684.4m last season but still managed to make a loss of \u00a342.1m despite the Glazer family not taking a dividend for the first time in seven years.<\/p>\n

The Sun now report that United's wage bill looks to have been surpassed by Manchester City, Liverpool and also Chelsea – but huge debts remain. <\/p>\n
Long-term debt remains at \u00a3507m with the cost of serving that sitting at \u00a321.4m last term alone.<\/p>\n
Football finance author Kieran Maguire has said: "The club is making losses still, but at least they are substantially lower than the \u00a3150m in 2021\/22.<\/p>\n
