Jermaine Jenas is reportedly being lined up for a shock move to host a new show after the end of MOTDx.<\/p>\n
Last month, the <\/span>BBC\u00a0axed one of their football shows, which<\/span>\u00a0was a BBC Three spin-off of the BBC’s flagship football programme Match of the Day, first airing in 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Hosted by Jermaine Jenas, it took a relaxed view at football and was supposed to target younger audiences.<\/p>\n However, less than a month after <\/span>Dan Walker became embroiled in a fierce row with <\/span>Alex Scott\u00a0over the BBC’s viewing figures, the show was axed.<\/p>\n Now, according to reports, Jenas looks to have landed a new gig in a surprise field.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jermaine Jenas is reportedly being lined up for a new role after MOTDx was axed by the BBC<\/p>\n Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n According to talkSPORT, Jenas is being lined up as the new host for Formula E – which is the electric car version of Formula 1.\u00a0<\/p>\n After their two-year tenure with Channel 4 came to an end recently, the sport is looking for a new home on UK televsion.\u00a0<\/p>\n The outlet also claim that ITV and TNT Sport are two of the front-runners to pick up the sport and, given his strong links to both broascasters, Jenas has been tipped for the role.<\/p>\n The new season of Formula E starts in Mexico City in January 2024 and the coverage will be initially provided by production company Whisper.\u00a0<\/p>\n In a recent statement, their\u00a0Chief Media Officer, Aarti Dabas, said: ‘We are excited to work with Whisper who will bring to Formula E their impressive, proven credentials for creating compelling sports and entertainment broadcast content.<\/p>\n ‘Formula E is the most competitive motorsport world championship with unrivalled racing action, big personalities in the paddock, and genuine storylines that will capture the imagination of new and current audiences.’<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jenas has been tipped to host Formula E – which could soon be broadcast on ITV or TNT Sport<\/p>\n MOTDx’s axing came shortly after two of the BBC’s most iconic stars clashed over viewing figures for the broadcaster’s other show, Football Focus.<\/p>\n Towards the end of September,\u00a0Football Focus presenter Alex Scott hit back at her predecessor Dan Walker, who said that it’s ‘hard’ to see the iconic BBC show struggling amid a dramatic slump in audience figures that could see it axed.<\/p>\n Walker presented the BBC One show for 11 years between 2009 and 2021, before Alex Scott took over from him.<\/p>\n As revealed by Mail Sport, the 49-year-old programme lost more than one third of its early-season viewers in the space of four years.<\/p>\n It’s All Kicking Off is an exciting new podcast from Mail Sport that promises a different take on Premier League football.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n It is available on MailOnline, Mail+, YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\nIT’S ALL KICKING OFF!\u00a0<\/h3>\n
