Listen here to It&#8217;s All Kicking Off!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Erik ten Hag has reportedly arranged to have one-to-one showdown talks with his under-performing Manchester United players in a bid to turn their dismal start to the season around.<\/p>\n<p>United&#8217;s dismal season plunged to new depths on Wednesday night after they were\u00a0dumped out of the Carabao Cup following a 3-0 loss to Newcastle.<\/p>\n<p>The defeat came three days after United were on the receiving end of the same score in the Manchester derby\u00a0and means Ten Hag has now overseen the club&#8217;s worst start to a season in six decades.<\/p>\n<p>And with doubt being cast over Ten Hag&#8217;s future at the club, the under-pressure Dutchman is looking to resolve any issues lingering within his own squad.<\/p>\n<p>According to The Sun, Ten Hag is desperate to know if there are any problems with him, his staff or any other members of the squad in a bid to fix the ongoing crisis at the club.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/03\/00\/77346289-12704549-image-a-14_1698971456831.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Erik ten Hag has reportedly called his players in for one-to-one sessions to clear the air<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/03\/00\/77346009-12704549-image-a-15_1698971466281.jpg\" height=\"472\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>United players cut dejected figures after their Carabao Cup exit at Old Trafford on Wednesday<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>The report claims that these showdown talks will be held on Friday and Saturday, less than 48 hours after their defence of the Carabao Cup went up in smoke.<\/p>\n<p>Following the defeat by Newcastle, Ten Hag vowed to turn the run of poor form around, insisting that he is a &#8216;fighter&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Scott McTominay backed his manager to do so on Friday, saying: &#8216;\u2018There\u2019s more that goes into it when you\u2019re not playing well. It\u2019s not quite happening at the moment, but I\u2019m 100 per cent sure that the manager can put that into practice\u00a0and it can come off.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Everyone knows that we\u2019re not in our best period at the minute. We have to stick together, that\u2019s the most important thing. We have another game coming up and potentially in a week\u2019s time the picture could be a little bit different \u2013 win in the Champions League and wins in the league.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Obviously the fans will hear the generic response of \u201cwe\u2019ve got to stick together\u201d, but it\u2019s true. Everyone wants this football club to succeed and we have to pull together and try to be as good with each other as possible in the dressing-room to get those results going our way.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I feel like we\u2019ve got more than enough talent in the changing room to do that. But obviously something isn\u2019t quite clicking. That\u2019s up to the manager and the players to fix that, and I\u2019m 100 per cent confident that we will.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/03\/00\/77346039-12704549-image-a-16_1698971471565.jpg\" height=\"392\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Dutchman is reportedly desperate to fix dressing room morale after their dismal start<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/03\/00\/77346019-12704549-image-a-17_1698971476510.jpg\" height=\"441\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ten Hag wants to know if there are any problems with him, his staff or other squad members<\/p>\n<p>Dressing room morale at United has been low in recent weeks, with Mail Sport reporting earlier this week that\u00a0United players fear Ten Hag\u2019s abrupt approach is affecting squad harmony.<\/p>\n<p>Ten Hag has built a no-nonsense reputation since arriving at Old Trafford in the summer of 2022 &#8211; and has had issues with a number of players since his appointment, most recently Jadon Sancho.<\/p>\n<p>The hardline Dutchman has been applauded for the way he has ruthlessly dealt with a number of issues involving high profile members of his squad over the past 18 months.<\/p>\n<p>However, Mail Sport has learned that figures within the United squad believe Ten Hag\u2019s handling of certain individuals has had a negative impact on team togetherness.<\/p>\n<p>Ten Hag\u2019s ongoing public dispute with winger Sancho has increased the scrutiny on United\u2019s disappointing campaign thus far.<\/p>\n<p>Sancho is exiled from United\u2019s squad after publicly disagreeing with his manager\u2019s public statements that he was left out of the squad to face Arsenal in September because of a lack of effort in training.<\/p>\n<p>His refusal to apologise to Ten Hag has seen Sancho completely cut off from the first-team squad to the point where he cannot even eat with the senior squad.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/03\/00\/77346007-12704549-image-a-18_1698971485519.jpg\" height=\"422\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ten Hag wants to boost squad morale as the under-pressure Dutchman fights for his job<\/p>\n<p>It is understood that United planned to make public any private apology from Sancho, which would have been viewed as a public victory for Ten Hag.<\/p>\n<p>Sancho, though, remains close with a number of players in the United squad despite his banishment.
