He may be scoring for fun, but England hero Jude Bellingham is looking to move into defence.

The Real Madrid superstar’s interest in security follows a series of raids on the homes of Premier League footballers. And he's also trademarked his name against a range of business opportunities including food, booze and clothes.

According to official documents, filed with the UK’s Intellectual Property Office, security is one of the arenas Bellingham is interested in examining. The midfield star – who scored twice against Scotland in the Three Lions’ most recent match – has included a section on his trademark papers that states: “Security services for the physical protection of tangible property and individuals.”

His legal team also filed documents with the Intellectual Property Office to ask for trademarks in sporting goods, toys and games and toiletries. All the classes were rubber-stamped by government lawyers.

Documents regarding drinks reveal: “Beers; non-alcoholic beverages; mineral and aerated waters; fruit beverages and fruit juices; syrups and other non-alcoholic preparations for making beverages; mineral and aerated waters and other non-alcoholic beverages; lager; ale; energy drinks; energy shots; isotonic beverages; pastilles for effervescing beverages; powders for effervescing beverages; protein-enriched sports beverages; flavoured water; mineral water; smoothies; soft drinks.”

The trademark will give Jude the freedom to market the goods exclusively with his name and branding while preventing other firms from cashing in on the popularity of the Midlands-born star. And although Bellingham has already cemented his status as a household name thanks to his on-field exploits, it may not be long before his branded wares find their way into fans' homes.

The 20-year-old has been on fire for Real this season and recently boosted his tally as La Liga's top goalscorer with a match-winning brace against Barcelona. His first taste of El Clasico could hardly have been more productive, with few players among the England squad looking more desirable in terms of branding potential at present.
