Liverpool are reportedly one of several clubs lining up a move for Napoli star Piotr Zielinski. The midfielder could become a free agent next summer having so far failed to come to an agreement over a new contract with the reigning Serie A champions.

Reports in Italy suggest that Liverpool could battle with West Ham for the experienced Poland international’s signature. Zielinski can discuss a pre-contract agreement with a non-Italian team from January 1.

That could hand Liverpool and West Ham an edge over Juventus, who are also linked with the player. Juve are seeking replacements for Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli, with Pogba facing a potentially lengthy ban and Fagioli suspended for seven months.

Zielinski has long been linked with Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp reported to be a fan of the 29-year-old. The Reds might be able to finally get their hands on a long-pursued target.
