The Liverpool frontman had already seen one goal disallowed for offside when the home side won a corner in the 27th minute. Virgil van Dijk met the set-piece in the air, forcing a fabulous save from Mark Flekken. After the ball popped up, Nunez showed tremendous athleticism to find the net with an overhead kick. However, with the lineman\u2019s flag raised, the goal didn\u2019t stand. <\/p>\n
Ahead of the Brentford game, Nunez had netted seven times for Liverpool this season, but it could have been many more had he shown more composure and enjoyed a little more luck in front of goal. Fans were left desperately disappointed that his acrobatic effort didn\u2019t count.<\/p>\n

Liverpool didn\u2019t have to wait much longer for a goal as Mo Salah, with Nunez providing the assist. Alexander-Arnold picked out Nunez on the edge of the area and he laid off to Salah, who tucked a shot past Mark Flekken and inside the far post for a goal of brilliant simplicity.<\/p>\n
In midweek, Nunez was mocked for \u2018missing a handshake\u2019 following Liverpool\u2019s Europa League defeat to Toulouse, which saw a late equaliser to make it 3-3 ruled out by a controversial VAR decision. As a result, he wasn\u2019t in the mood for a full-time handshake with Frank Magri, who took umbrage at his rival\u2019s perceived lack of sportsmanship.<\/p>\n
