{"id":297757,"date":"2023-11-16T13:25:08","date_gmt":"2023-11-16T13:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/?p=297757"},"modified":"2023-11-16T13:25:08","modified_gmt":"2023-11-16T13:25:08","slug":"meet-the-aussie-teen-who-could-become-the-first-woman-to-drive-in-f1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/racing\/f1\/meet-the-aussie-teen-who-could-become-the-first-woman-to-drive-in-f1\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet the Aussie teen who could become the first woman to drive in F1"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Meet the Aussie teenager who&#8217;s just taken a HUGE step towards becoming the first woman to score a drive in Formula One<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Aiva Anagnostiadis is on track to make her F1 dream a reality<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0The 16-year-old from Melbourne will join Alpine&#8217;s F1 Academy<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Aussie McLaren ace Oscar Piastri is an inspiration to young star<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Melbourne teenager Aiva Anagnostiadis wants to become the first female Formula One driver of the modern era &#8211; and she&#8217;s just taken a huge step toward realising her dreams.<\/p>\n<p>Anagnostiadis, 16, will\u00a0follow in the footsteps of Aussies\u00a0Oscar Piastri and Jack Doohan at the end of her school year and join the Alpine F1 Academy.<\/p>\n<p>The talented youngster will relocate to Europe with her family and race go-karts next season before a planned move into cars in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Obviously, the main goal now is Formula One,&#8217; she told the\u00a0Herald Sun.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Racing professionally and getting paid for it as a job.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/16\/06\/77864755-12755699-image-a-166_1700114642470.jpg\" height=\"333\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Aiva Anagnostiadis, 16, wants to become the first female F1 driver of the modern era &#8211; and she&#8217;s on track to make her dreams a reality<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/16\/06\/77864765-12755699-image-a-167_1700114647133.jpg\" height=\"421\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Anagnostiadis\u00a0is poised to join the Alpine F1 Academy for the 2024 season, which would see her follow in the footsteps of Aussie McLaren ace Oscar Piastri<\/p>\n<p>Her family has sold their house for the big career move and\u00a0Anagnostiadis is hopeful she can make motorsport history.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It would be a dream come true, in every aspect,&#8217; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Hopefully, we can make it happen. It&#8217;s a while away, but all the little things that we&#8217;re putting in now is going to help to achieve that goal,&#8217; she said.<\/p>\n<p>The family will move to Oxford to start with and Aiva will team up with Dan Holland Racing.<\/p>\n<p>The karting team is highly successful with championship wins in the Rotax British and European championships, plus the X30 Junior series.<\/p>\n<p>Piastri, who has had a brilliant rookie season so far with McLaren, has been a great role model for\u00a0Anagnostiadis.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;With him being an Aussie and having been a part of Alpine, it&#8217;s a big inspiration,&#8217; she said.<\/p>\n<p>The young star&#8217;s mum, Barbara, is overjoyed that Alpine is showing interest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/16\/06\/77864763-12755699-The_Melbourne_teen_is_hoping_to_make_her_dreams_come_true_in_Eur-a-3_1700117387093.jpg\" height=\"419\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Melbourne teen is hoping to make her dreams come true in Europe &#8211; and she&#8217;s using Piastri&#8217;s stunning rise through the F1 ranks as inspiration<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;As a female in this sport, to have that kind of support and belief behind her, I think that&#8217;s going to make the difference,&#8217; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It would be pretty cool for the sport to have a female representing F1.
