Melbourne teenager Aiva Anagnostiadis wants to become the first female Formula One driver of the modern era – and she’s just taken a huge step toward realising her dreams.<\/p>\n
Anagnostiadis, 16, will\u00a0follow in the footsteps of Aussies\u00a0Oscar Piastri and Jack Doohan at the end of her school year and join the Alpine F1 Academy.<\/p>\n
The talented youngster will relocate to Europe with her family and race go-karts next season before a planned move into cars in 2025.<\/p>\n
‘Obviously, the main goal now is Formula One,’ she told the\u00a0Herald Sun.<\/p>\n
‘Racing professionally and getting paid for it as a job.’<\/p>\n

Aiva Anagnostiadis, 16, wants to become the first female F1 driver of the modern era – and she’s on track to make her dreams a reality<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Anagnostiadis\u00a0is poised to join the Alpine F1 Academy for the 2024 season, which would see her follow in the footsteps of Aussie McLaren ace Oscar Piastri<\/p>\n
Her family has sold their house for the big career move and\u00a0Anagnostiadis is hopeful she can make motorsport history.<\/p>\n
‘It would be a dream come true, in every aspect,’ she said.<\/p>\n
‘Hopefully, we can make it happen. It’s a while away, but all the little things that we’re putting in now is going to help to achieve that goal,’ she said.<\/p>\n
The family will move to Oxford to start with and Aiva will team up with Dan Holland Racing.<\/p>\n
The karting team is highly successful with championship wins in the Rotax British and European championships, plus the X30 Junior series.<\/p>\n
Piastri, who has had a brilliant rookie season so far with McLaren, has been a great role model for\u00a0Anagnostiadis.<\/p>\n
‘With him being an Aussie and having been a part of Alpine, it’s a big inspiration,’ she said.<\/p>\n
The young star’s mum, Barbara, is overjoyed that Alpine is showing interest.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Melbourne teen is hoping to make her dreams come true in Europe – and she’s using Piastri’s stunning rise through the F1 ranks as inspiration<\/p>\n
‘As a female in this sport, to have that kind of support and belief behind her, I think that’s going to make the difference,’ she said.<\/p>\n
‘It would be pretty cool for the sport to have a female representing F1. It would be awesome.’<\/p>\n
