Erling Haaland will play no part in next summer’s Euros after Norway failed to qualify for the tournament in Germany.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Norwegians weren’t even in action on Saturday night, but needed Isreal to beat Romania to stand any chance of keeping a path to qualifying open.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, Romania topped Group I after beating Isreal 2-1, booking their place at Euro 2024 and leaving it mathematically impossible for Norway to make the finals.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Israel will join Group J’s Bosnia as the top two in the Path B playoffs, but there will be no place for Manchester City striker Haaland and his Norwegian team-mates.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It means Haaland, who will miss Sunday night’s qualifier against Scotland with an ankle injury, is still yet to play in a major tournament with his country, with Norway having failed to appear at a World Cup or Euros since Euro 2000.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It may have been bad news for the City number nine, but there was better news for both Switzerland and the Netherlands who confirmed their qualification for Germany.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Switzerland’s point against Kosovo was enough to secure second place in Group I and they join Romania in qualifying for the tournament.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Over in Group B, the Netherlands 1-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland thanks to a Wout Weghorst goal, sees them finish behind France as the two teams heading to Germany next summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Netherlands booked their place at Euro 2024 after beating the Republic of Ireland\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, Bulgaria and Kosovo’s play-off hopes have ended and will join Norway in not being able to qualify for the finals.\u00a0<\/p>\n
There is some hope for Wales though, who are guaranteed a play-off spot if they don’t prevail from their group.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Rob Page’s men need to beat Turkey on Tuesday and hope Croatia drop points at home to Armenia to qualify automatically.\u00a0<\/p>\n
