    Liverpool will be given another multi-million pound bill by Benfica for Darwin Nunez.<\/p>\n

    The Merseysiders broke their own transfer record to bring the Uruguayan forward to Anfield in June 2022 in a deal believed to be worth around \u00a385million. He has endured a mixed spell with the club, contributing 22 goals and ten assists in 60 appearances in all competitions.<\/p>\n

    He also made himself known in Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Manchester City by exchanging some colourful words with City boss Pep Guardiola. However, his most recent game against the Citizens has triggered another bill the Reds must now pay to the Portuguese giants. <\/p>\n

    According to the Daily Express, Liverpool will need to pay Benfica \u00a38.5m after his recent display against City. While the official transfer fee was around \u00a385m, only \u00a364m was paid to the Portuguese side.<\/p>\n

    The remaining \u00a321m was made up of add-ons. After the Uruguayan made his 10th appearance for the club, Liverpool forked out \u00a34.3m in another payment to Benfica. By starting against City on Saturday, the striker made his 60th appearance for Klopp's side. <\/p>\n

    This milestone triggered the next \u00a38.5m payment to Benfica. It's understood the next add-on will depend on the individual and collective performance of the team throughout the contract.<\/p>\n

    While Nunez has improved this season, he has still been haunted by a series of poor misses in front of goal. The 24-year-old recently sent a close-range rebound against Luton Town flying over the bar. <\/p>\n

    Despite his energy and industry, his finishing has proven to be the Achilles' heel in his game. Nevertheless, his statistics are still good on the whole, with seven goals and six assists in 18 appearances to his name in all competitions. <\/p>\n

    He's far from the imperious No.9 who scored goals for fun at Benfica, but he is turning a corner, something that could prove to be more expensive still for the Reds. <\/p>\n
