Gary Neville compared the late Terry Venables to Pep Guardiola in an emotional tribute on social media.

The former England manager passed away at the age of 80 years old after a long battle with illness. Venables was the first manager to call up Neville when he was still a raw, youthful player at Manchester United.

Neville, 48, became one of the Three Lions' most important players during the 1996 European Championship, which saw England reach the semi-finals before losing to Germany in a heartbreaking penalty shootout at the Old Wembley. More than 17 years after Venables placed so much faith into Neville, the now Sky Sports pundit hailed the former Barcelona boss by comparing him to the Manchester City manager.
