Chelsea may have opened the door for Paris Saint-Germain to beat them to a January deal for Corinthians wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo. The 18-year-old Brazilian midfielder has been linked with a host of top European clubs, with Mauricio Pochettino’s outfit said to hold a strong interest in bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea were thought to be frontrunners for his signature as the Brazil youth international looks set to be the latest South American star to take Europe by storm. However, PSG may have stolen a march on the Blues despite Todd Boehly and co contacting Corinthians over a potential January transfer.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that PSG are set to open talks for Moscardo and they are seriously interested in him heading for Paris. The club’s recruitment chief Luis Campos has been closely monitoring his progress for months as they look to beat several clubs to his signature.

Chelsea currently are not looking to bid for Moscardo, even though they were said to have laid out a formal plan to land the starlet. He could cost as much as £30million in January according to Corinthians’ former chief Duilo Monteiro Alves.

They have already spent a huge amount of money to sign players who occupy the same position as Moscardo, having broken the British transfer record twice on Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.
