Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz has revealed that he has copied England international Jude Bellingham by cutting holes in his socks.<\/p>\n
The Spaniard returned to Real Madrid in the summer after spending three years on loan at AC Milan.<\/p>\n
Upon his return, Bellingham joined Los Blancos from Borussia Dortmund and it appears the pair have struck up a friendship, with Diaz speaking English dating back to his time at Man City.<\/p>\n
Diaz has since revealed that he has taken inspiration from his new team-mate as he has copied Bellingham by cutting holes in his socks.<\/p>\n
The phenomena has been seen across Europe, with several English players such as Bukayo Saka and Conor Gallagher also choosing to cut up their socks.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Madrid news outlet\u00a0Defensacentral.com, Diaz revealed his reasoning for copying Bellingham.<\/p>\n
‘My calves had gone up in the last few matches and I didn’t know why,’ he revealed.<\/p>\n
‘Bellingham runs for 90 minutes and he’s fine, so I said I have to do something.’<\/p>\n
He continued to joke that he is hoping that the decision doesn’t backfire and cause him to pick up another injury this season.<\/p>\n
\u00a0‘Let’s hope they don’t blow up again now that I go up the stairs!’ he joked.<\/p>\n
Fans had picked up on Bellingham’s decision to cut up his socks dating back to his time in Germany.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The reason that players cut the\u00a0back of socks is to relieve tension and prevent pain in their calves.<\/p>\n
Tight socks can result in injuries and cutting holes is these has become a common solution for many players across football.<\/p>\n
Diaz will be hoping that copying Bellingham in this way can lead to him replicating the form of his team-mate, who has been on fire in Madrid so far this season.<\/p>\n
