{"id":299872,"date":"2023-12-07T22:24:08","date_gmt":"2023-12-07T22:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/?p=299872"},"modified":"2023-12-07T22:24:08","modified_gmt":"2023-12-07T22:24:08","slug":"fia-drop-probe-into-mercedes-boss-toto-wolff-and-his-wife-susie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/racing\/f1\/fia-drop-probe-into-mercedes-boss-toto-wolff-and-his-wife-susie\/","title":{"rendered":"FIA drop probe into Mercedes boss Toto Wolff and his wife Susie"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1> FIA investigation into Mercedes boss Toto Wolff and his wife Susie over alleged conflict of interest is DROPPED &#8211; with the governing body satisfied no &#8216;breaches of confidentiality&#8217; took place<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><span>The FIA launched a probe looking into the conduct of Toto and Susie Wolff<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Toto is Mercedes team principal, while Susie leads the women-only F1 Academy\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>However, the FIA have found that no breaches of confidentiality took place\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Toto Wolff was tonight cleared to carry on as Mercedes team principal after motorsport&#8217;s governing FIA abandoned their inquiry into a potential conflict of interest.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling body&#8217;s embarrassing U-turn came only 48 hours after they stated they were concerned that Wolff&#8217;s wife, Susie, is head of F1 Academy, the all-female series run and owned by the sport&#8217;s owners, Liberty Media.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was believed possible that through this role she was privy to F1 information she could then pass on to her husband.<\/p>\n<p>But last night, in an excruciating change of direction, the FIA announced their investigation over.<\/p>\n<p>They said: &#8216;Following a review of Formula One Management&#8217;s code of conduct and conflict of interest policy, and confirmation that appropriate protective measures are in place to mitigate any potential conflicts, the FIA is satisfied that FOM&#8217;s compliance management system is robust enough to prevent any unauthorised disclosure of confidential information.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/07\/19\/78616571-0-Mercedes_boss_Toto_Wolff_and_his_wife_Susie_are_at_the_centre_of-a-6_1701979071418.jpg\" height=\"441\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The FIA investigation into Mercedes boss Toto Wolff and his wife Susie has been dropped<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/07\/19\/78707881-0-image-a-7_1701979077513.jpg\" height=\"452\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the FIA opened a probe into an alleged conflict of interest between Toto and Susie<\/p>\n<p><span>&#8216;The FIA can confirm that there is no ongoing investigation in terms of ethical or disciplinary inquiries involving any individual.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;As the regulator, the FIA has a duty to maintain the integrity of global motorsport.
