Fans have been left befuddled by this bizarre penalty in the Saudi Pro League last night.<\/p>\n
Bottom side Al Hazm were taking on Al Fateh, who are managed by ex-West Ham boss Slaven Bilic.<\/p>\n
The score was 1-0 to Al-Hazm in the 11th minute of the game when Al Fateh defender Fahad Al-Harbi looked to be innocently running past his keeper.<\/p>\n
But instead of running back into position, he decides to slap the ball inside his keeper’s hands while in the penalty box in what appears to be a failed high-five.<\/p>\n
His goalkeeper Jacob Rinne looks in astonishment at the player as he questions what on earth he was thinking.<\/p>\n

This is the moment Al-Fateh’s defender decides to bizarrely handle the ball inside the area<\/p>\n

The Al-Hazm player then calmly stepped up to slot the penalty home despite protests to the referee.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Despite the match finishing 2-0 to Al-Hazm, fans were most engrossed by this penalty decision with the clip soon going viral.<\/p>\n
One person wrote on social media how the defender had to have ‘a very high level of disconnect’.<\/p>\n
Another wrote: ‘Is this the weirdest reason for a penalty ever?’, while a third added: ‘What was he thinking?’<\/p>\n
A final fan added: ‘What in the Sunday League has happened here?’<\/p>\n
Al Fateh, who are managed by, sit seventh in the table on 24 points, meanwhile Al-Hazm sit bottom on just 11 points.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
