Brazilian legend Romario proved he has still got it in a jaw-dropping game of street football.<\/p>\n
In his playing days, Romario won the World Cup, three Copa Americas, La Liga, three Dutch championships and three Dutch cups during a highly distinguished playing career. He was widely considered to be one of the best players in the world and even won the best FIFA Men's Player award in 1994. <\/p>\n
However, at the ripe old age of 57, he completely dominates small-sided street football matches in Brazil. After footage of him spinning opponents around in circles like it was 1994 emerged on social media, fans came out in their droves to lavish praise on the Barcelona legend. <\/p>\n

According to recent studies, he is the ninth highest goal scorer in world football having notched 768 goals in 1002 official matches for club and country. If friendly matches are included, it's understood his record increases to more than 1000 goals. <\/p>\n
Considering his skills nearly 14 years after retiring, you could see how he managed to score so many goals. Romario could be seen holding off players, dipping inside of them and even spinning them round with the kind of magical footwork we all associate with Brazil. <\/p>\n

Later on in the video, Romario flicked the ball over a pressing defender and span an inch-perfect half volley into the bottom corner with the outside of his foot. He also proved that his technique is as good as ever, when he controlled a floating pass over his shoulder with his laces, stopped it dead and then sent a firm effort into the back of the net.<\/p>\n
Best of all, you can see his competitiveness has not dwindled. After one of his goals, he immediately picked the ball up and put it on the centre spot to try and inspire a comeback. Whether his team went on to win or not, you could see he was enjoying every moment.<\/p>\n

He was not the only one, as what appeared to be hundreds of Brazilians turn up to watch his matches through the fences of the street football pitch. When the footage reached social media, one fan said he is: "the definition of 'form is temporary, class is permanent'."<\/p>\n
Another added: "Romario is absolutely taking the p***." A third wrote: "Dripping nutmegs on folks at 57 years old! Just stop it Romario!" As the social media world were left wide-eyed in wonder by his skills, one of his biggest fans said: "You youngsters that didn\u2019t see this man play should look him up, top player, loved watching him play."<\/p>\n
