{"id":300123,"date":"2023-12-12T15:41:55","date_gmt":"2023-12-12T15:41:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/?p=300123"},"modified":"2023-12-12T15:41:55","modified_gmt":"2023-12-12T15:41:55","slug":"roy-jones-jr-claims-he-is-75-per-cent-sure-he-will-fight-tommy-fury","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allmysportsnews.com\/boxing\/roy-jones-jr-claims-he-is-75-per-cent-sure-he-will-fight-tommy-fury\/","title":{"rendered":"Roy Jones Jr claims he is &apos;75 per cent sure he will fight Tommy Fury&apos;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1> Former world champion Roy Jones Jr, 54, claims he&#8217;s &#8216;75% sure he will fight Tommy Fury,&#8217; with the boxing legend claiming an exhibition with Brit who&#8217;s 30 YEARS his junior &#8216;could happen in UK&#8217;<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Roy Jones Jr has claimed that talks have taken place for him to fight Tommy Fury\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The 54-year-old could reportedly fight the Brit in Saudi Arabia or in the UK\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Jake and Logan Paul should be respected, they&#8217;re influential and blazing a trail &#8211; Listen to why on The Hook<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Former four-weight boxing world champion Roy Jones Jr has claimed that he is &#8217;75 per cent sure&#8217; he will fight Tommy Fury, adding that negotiations have already taken place over a potential exhibition fight.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 54-year-old, who held titles at middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight, also revealed that a bout between him and the former Love Island contestant could take place in either Saudi Arabia or in the United Kingdom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jones Jr, who announced his retirement back in 2018, recently returned to fight Mike Tyson in an exhibition that ended in a draw.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The American, who holds a record of 66-10-0, returned to the ring in April for a professional fight against UFC fighter\u00a0Anthony Pettis but lost to the MMA fighter on points.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While there would be a 30-year age gap between him and Fury, Jones Jr admitted that the potential fight was an offer he could not turn down.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/11\/23\/78845275-0-image-a-79_1702337674352.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Roy Jones Jr has admitted that a potential fight between him and Tommy Fury &#8216;is being negotiated&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/11\/23\/78845285-0-image-a-80_1702337692059.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Jones Jr said he was &#8217;75 per cent sure&#8217; the bout would take place and could happen as part of an undercard for a fight between John Fury and Mike Tyson\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/11\/23\/78845225-0-image-a-81_1702337780659.jpg\" height=\"439\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The 54-year-old retired from professional boxing in 2018 but came out of retirement to fight Mike Tyson in 2020<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Saudi Arabia at the moment will probably pay what I\u2019m looking for to make an exhibition happen,&#8217; the Jones Jr said to Casino Alpha. &#8216;Dealing with the Saudis, I\u2019ll say that I\u2019m 75% sure this exhibition happens against Tommy Fury.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;And if the money is not right in Saudi Arabia then maybe me and Tommy could do an exhibition in the UK, that would be the first time that I ever had the chance to perform in the UK. Would I really say no to that?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Fury, meanwhile, recently defeated KSI via a unanimous decision, a victory that the YouTuber-turned-boxer subsequently appealed after Fury appeared to punch him in the back of the head.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While it&#8217;s unclear who Fury could fight next, after having also beaten Jake Paul earlier this year, it appears a fight between him and Jones Jr could happen on the undercard of a bout between his father, John Fury and Mike Tyson.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Me and Tommy Fury is a great idea,&#8217; Jones Jr added. &#8216;John Fury initially said he wanted to fight Mike Tyson, so I said &#8220;If you\u2019re all going to do that, let\u2019s go and make an all-out card \u2013 if John fights Mike, I\u2019ll fight Tommy on the undercard or as the co-main&#8221;, that would be awesome right?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/11\/23\/78846045-0-image-a-82_1702337853703.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fury&#8217;s last fight came against KSI in October, with the 24-year-old winning via a unanimous decision\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/11\/23\/78845405-0-image-a-83_1702337942448.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Jones Jr backed himself to beat Fury, claiming that his experience would bode in his favour<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Tommy Fury said &#8220;alright, let\u2019s fight for real\u2019 so I said &#8220;whoa okay, that might work, but I need to get these knees right first&#8221;.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>He added: &#8216;I haven\u2019t heard anymore about John Fury and Mike Tyson, but Tommy Fury said &#8220;hey, we can still do our thing and do our own exhibition&#8221;. And I said &#8220;that\u2019s not a bad idea but the money will have to be right&#8221;.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Jones also added that he backed himself to beat Fury, claiming that his experience in the ring &#8216;balanced out&#8217; against his potential opponent&#8217;s age.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We\u2019re in talks,&#8217; he said. &#8216;It\u2019s being negotiated, it\u2019s a really interesting fight because Tommy is inexperienced and that\u2019s balanced out but my age and experience;
