If they\u2019d had Maddison, Van de Ven, not had Romero suspended, I think they\u2019d probably be top of the league at this stage in the season.<\/p>\n<p>He [Ange] has alluded to it there that it is so hard when your best players have had to play in different positions and it\u2019s been incredibly hard. James Maddison will be back in mid Jan and they\u2019ve missed him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/10\/20\/78794373-12847885-image-a-91_1702240821975.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Jamie Redknapp believes old club could be topping the table if it weren&#8217;t for key injuries\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/10\/20\/78796751-12847885-image-a-95_1702241192673.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>James Maddison suffered an ankle injury in the defeat to Chelsea and is out until mid-January\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/10\/20\/78796769-12847885-image-a-96_1702241226612.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Defender Micky van de Ven is also a long-term absentee following a hamstring issue\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;But that was a really big and important performance, they\u2019re only seven points off the top at the moment with that period of four out of a possible 18.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Maddison picked up an ankle injury in the defeat to Chelsea, while Van de Ven also suffered a hamstring issue in the same game.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Both players aren&#8217;t expected back until to the new year, and Spurs also still have\u00a0Eric Dier, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ashley Phillips, Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon all still out on the sidelines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Richarlison scored twice for Spurs after Destiny Udogie had opened the scoring for the home side before Son Heung-min wrapped up the victory from the penalty spot with five minutes to go.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was Tottenham&#8217;s first win in five, and gets them back on track following the first test of Ange Postecoglou reigns.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Australian boss, who was appointed in the summer, got off to an impressive start in North London, winning back-to-back Manager of the Month awards in August and September.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/10\/20\/78796799-12847885-image-a-97_1702241272810.jpg\" height=\"461\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Redknapp is full of praise for the job Ange Postecoglou has done since being appointed\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/10\/20\/78796801-12847885-image-a-98_1702241295750.jpg\" height=\"407\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tottenham got back to winning ways with a thumping 4-1 win over Newcastle on Sunday\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yet, after the dramatic defeat to Chelsea at the start of last month, have faced a difficult period where they&#8217;ve lost key players to injury and remained winless until the victory over Newcastle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, Redknapp was full of praise for the Spurs boss and the impact he&#8217;s made at his former club.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Adding:\u00a0He\u2019s [Ange] has done such a great job, Spurs in the last 10 years have been one of the most unwatchable teams in the Premier League, but he\u2019s made them the most watchable with the style he\u2019s played bringing in.<\/p>\n<p>It shows you just how quickly things can change when bringing in the right manager.
