Eddie Hearn has claimed that Conor Benn’s fight with Chris Eubank Jr is ’48 hours away from being dead’ because the latter’s camp is demanding a figure he ‘can’t hit’.<\/p>\n
The Matchroom Sport chairman has tried to negotiate a deal but now the grudge match between the two has once again been jeopardised.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Benn made headlines in October 2022 when his bout with Eubank Jr was cancelled just days before it was due to happen after he twice tested positive for clomifene\u00a0in a Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) test, thereby receiving a ban.<\/p>\n
His suspension in Britain was lifted by the National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) in July and a fight on February 17 had been touted.<\/p>\n
However, the\u00a0British Boxing Board of Control will not sanction the fight and Hearn’s latest comments have only added to fears for the fight’s prospects of happening.<\/p>\n

According to Hearn, Eubank Jr’s camp are demanding a figure for the fight that he ‘can’t hit’<\/p>\n
Hearn told MMA Fighting: ‘He’s got his number somehow from somebody, and we can’t hit that number.’<\/p>\n
He added that the bout is ’48 hours away from being dead’.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Benn got back in the ring earlier in September and beat Rodolfo Orozco by unanimous decision.\u00a0<\/p>\n
If the fight with Eubank Jr cannot go ahead, he could be looking at someone like Devin Haney as his next opponent.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Haney claimed the WBC lightweight world title with a unanimous decision win over Regis Prograis, extending his record to 31-0.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Benn’s fight with Eubank was originally meant to take place in October 2022 but a doping ban suspended the showdown<\/p>\n
