It&#8217;s All Kicking Off<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jamie Carragher has poked fun at Micah Richards, joking that he was not a good role model for young Man City star Micah Hamilton.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 20-year-old City academy star made his full senior debut for the club on Wednesday night and enjoyed a dream first outing against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton would produce a moment of magic in the 19th minute of the game to put City 1-0 up, breaking into the penalty area to hammer the ball past the Belgrade goalkeeper from a tight angle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>City went on to seal victory 3-2 and will now advance to the knockout stages of the tournament after finishing top of Group G.<\/p>\n<p>After the match, Carragher lauded the young star for his performance, saying to CBS sports: &#8216;There was a lot to admire. He reminds us of this man on our left [Richards]. His performance was fantastic, the interview was fantastic.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/14\/00\/78938297-12861721-image-a-34_1702512045798.jpg\" height=\"354\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Jamie Carragher has poked fun at Micah Richards joking that he was a bad role model for Man City youngster Micah Hamilton<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/14\/00\/78938291-12861721-image-a-35_1702512053535.jpg\" height=\"411\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Hamilton, who made his senior debut for the Cityzens on Wednesday, went to ground inside the Red Star Belgrade penalty area during the match<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>But the former Liverpool defender admitted that he was not impressed by a passage of play that saw Hamilton go down inside the opposition penalty area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;But there was one thing I didn&#8217;t like tonight and he&#8217;s got to get it out of his game,&#8217; he said, speaking on the moment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;That is a horrific, horrendous, dive &#8211; it&#8217;s cheating.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Carragher&#8217;s strong comments immediately evoked a reaction from Richards, who replied saying &#8216;What?!&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Here it is it&#8217;s not right,&#8217; Carragher adds before Richards said: &#8216;He&#8217;s got his shirt there!&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ex-Liverpool defender added: &#8216;No it&#8217;s not right, he flops to the floor it&#8217;s very theatric and we don&#8217;t want to see it.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/14\/00\/78938293-12861721-image-a-36_1702512057363.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Carragher, on punditry after the game, claimed Hamilton had dived and had found a clip from the archives of Richards performing a pretty exceptional dive himself<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/14\/00\/78938295-12861721-image-a-37_1702512065798.jpg\" height=\"384\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Carragher jokingly claimed &#8216;Where do you think he learnt it from Micah Richards?&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Are you being serious?&#8217; Richards said perplexed, to which Carragher replied: &#8216;Ofcourse I&#8217;m being serious; that message he&#8217;ll thank me for in a few years.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Carragher, who was making his case then went on to show the video of Richards performing a very thatrical swan dive during his playing days at Aston Villa.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He obviously looks up to you, so where do you think he got it from? Where do you think he learnt it from Micah Richards?&#8217; Carragher said before playing the hilarious clip of Richards rising into mid-air, before going horizontal and falling onto his head.<\/p>\n<p>The humerous clip had the studio in stitches, with Thierry Henry, also on punditry perplexed at the physics of Richards&#8217; dive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But it was a fantastic debut for Hamilton, who after the match, reflected on his career so far before claiming that there was more to come from him after a &#8216;surreal&#8217; debut in the Champions League.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I don\u2019t even know how to put it into words to be honest \u2013 it\u2019s all surreal.
