Luton captain Tom Lockyer remained in hospital undergoing tests and scans on Sunday after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch during Saturday’s abandoned match at Bournemouth.<\/p>\n
Following the incident at the Vitality Stadium that halted play in the second half, the Hatters confirmed Lockyer was ‘responsive’ before being taken to hospital and was in a ‘stable’ condition.<\/p>\n
An update from the club on Sunday said: ‘Tom is still undergoing tests and scans, and is awaiting the results before the next steps for his recovery are determined.’<\/p>\n
The statement on lutontown.co.uk added: ‘We understand that supporters are concerned for him and that there is widespread media interest in his condition.<\/p>\n
‘We are unable to provide a running commentary on his situation, and request that all media please wait for any updates to be released via the club’s official channels when the time is right.<\/p>\n

‘We all want the very best for Tom, his partner Taylor and the whole Lockyer family, and politely ask that his and their privacy is respected at this difficult time.’<\/p>\n
The two sides were level with the game at 1-1 when Lockyer suffered a medical emergency during the game at the Vitality Stadium.<\/p>\n
Immediately after he collapsed to the ground unchallenged Edwards raced on to the pitch to lead players away from the incident as medical staff urgently attended to the Wales international.<\/p>\n
Both teams returned to their dressing rooms as Lockyer was transported from the ground to hospital on a stretcher, with\u00a0the Bournemouth staff doctor confirming that he was ‘alert and responsive.’<\/p>\n
Half an hour after the incident the game was officially abandoned with players not wishing to continue.<\/p>\n

There was clear anxiety among the Luton players and staff as Lockyer received treatment<\/p>\n
In May’s Championship play-off final between Luton and Coventry at Wembley Stadium, Lockyer collapsed in the 11th minute of the first-half and was taken to hospital.<\/p>\n
It was revealed Lockyer suffered atrial fibrillation of the heart but was given the all-clear to resume his career following surgery.<\/p>\n
After Saturday’s game was officially abandoned, the players from both Luton and Bournemouth came back out on to the pitch to applaud the crowd, with Edwards close to tears on his lap around the ground.<\/p>\n
