Manchester United hope to convince Casemiro to stay amid the player’s intentions to retire in Saudi Arabia, according to reports. However, the Red Devils will not stand in his way if they receive a suitable offer in January and the player demands an exit.
Casemiro joined United from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022 in a mega-money deal. The Brazilian signed a four-year contract with the option of a further year, which would take him to the age of 35.
He was a hugely important player for Erik ten Hag in his first campaign in English football. The 31-year-old played a key role in United ending their six-year wait for silverware as well as finishing third in the Premier League.
But this season hasn’t gone quite as well for either Casemiro or his club. He has played just 10 times across the Premier League and Champions League, with injury and suspension playing a part in his reduced game time.

A move away has been speculated and Spanish outlet Relevo claims the Saudi Pro League is on his radar. The report says Casemiro is considering his future, with United yet to put together the winning project he hoped they would when he signed 16 months ago.
Casemiro is said to be keen on competing with and alongside some former team-mates in Saudi Arabia in what would be his last big contract before retirement. The report says he has already discussed that possibility with people closest to him.
However, United are not ready to give up on the 31-year-old just yet. Red Devils chiefs know Casemiro’s intentions but want to convince him to stay for another year or two.

United intend to make major changes to their squad and hierarchy once Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment is confirmed. They want Casemiro to ease the transition and play a part in their quest for success.
However, Relevo says United also know there is a possibility Casemiro will leave. It is claimed that if a good offer arrives in January, they will allow him to go if it is his wish to do so.
Casemiro is not ruling out staying and would be open to doing so if he can see that success is around the corner at Old Trafford. He arrived at United wanting to compete for and win major silverware and doesn’t want to leave a team that depends on him to reach that goal.
