The scene was a wet country lane near Knutsford, Cheshire, during the height of Storm Babet which has taken lives this week.

The voltage lane is though to have weighed half a tonne, with both the England international and the other driver both getting out unharmed before sharing a conversation.

The events came as Alexander-Arnold was back on Liverpool duty ahead of their Premier League contest against Everton on Saturday afternoon, after he featured for England in their win over Australia.

Cheshire Police said of the Thursday collision: "At 10.34am this morning we were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a black Range Rover and a BMW.

"An electricity pole had fallen into the road, causing the accident. Nobody was injured and everything was cleared by 1.05pm.

"We called the energy company and had the electricity turned off."

Police confirmed earlier in the day that a man had died after getting caught in fast-flowing flood water.

The unnamed man was swept under the waters in the town of Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire, with West Mercia Police confirming the death, the third fatality brought on by Storm Babet.

Two members of the public were confirmed dead late last night and earlier today respectively, with horrendous weather caused by Storm Babet deemed the main factor in both instances.
