Former collegiate golfer turned influencer Paige Spiranac has clapped back at critics who have been outspoken about her attire on the golf course.
Spiranac took to social media to share details of a wardrobe experiment she conducted. Her objective was to determine the clothing that would produce consistently good results while on the course.
Spiranac discovered that wearing a tank top over the usual collared shirt requirement improved her shots on the course. Traditional golf enthusiasts shared their belief that her revealing attire was “insulting to men” and that she was “toying with their love” of the game.
The golf influencer fired back, saying, “So, what I’m gathering is that you hate boobs,” she said. “But everyone loves boobs. Boobs are great!” “There’s a lot going on in the world that should bother you and offend you,” she tweeted. “Boobs ain’t one of them.”

Spiranac’s content on social media has received criticism for sexualizing women’s golf. The LGPA Tour created a stricter dress code in 2017, creating an uproar and rebellious actions toward the association.
The 30-year-old controversial sports personality has 3.9 million followers on Instagram, 1.5 million on TikTok, and 902k followers on Twitter. Spiranac also has a YouTube channel with 254k subscribers, where she showcases vlogs revolving around golf, fitness, and overall lifestyle.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Spiranac explained her reasoning for wearing revealing outfits on the golf course. She mentioned hitting a financial low point when she became interested in the sport and how expensive golf’s attire requirements are.

“I was a gymnast before I switched into golf,” said Spiranac. “I was so comfortable wearing spandex and very little of it because that’s just what you wear when you’re wearing a leotard and you’re competing.”
“When I switched to golf, we were struggling a little bit financially, so I didn’t have the luxury to go out and buy a whole new golf-appropriate wardrobe. And so, I wore what was in my closet, which was workout clothes. That’s just how I learned to play the game.”
In 2016, Spiranac participated in her first LPGA Qualifying Tournament but did not earn a professional card. Before this, she played on the Cactus Tour, which is an unofficial mini-tour for women with less rigorous entry requirements and lower prize money compared to LPGA. At the end of the season, she won a total of $8,010.
Spiranac’s golf career was put on the map during her time at college when she attended the University of Arizona before transferring and finishing her collegiate career at San Diego State University. She achieved First-Team All-Mountain West honours her second year, Second-Team All-Mountain West honors during her junior season, and capped off her senior year by winning the first Mountain West Conference Championship in the school’s history.
Outside of golf, she has been featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition as a model and in Golf Digest. Spiranac also made history, becoming the first athlete to earn the No. 1 spot and title of “Sexiest Woman Alive” in Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 list of 2022.
