The four-time Grand Slam winner is now ranked No.40 in the world and hasn't won back-to-back games since August – taking a gruelling first set against the Argentine before slipping to defeat.
As the game got away from him, the Brit slammed his racket into the hard court surface to shock the crowd at the Swiss Indoors ATP 500 event in Basel on Wednesday.

The 36-year-old ended up losing 6-7 6-3 6-2 against his 24-year-old foe after setting up what would've been his best win regarding the rank of his opponent since May.
One tennis fan said in response: "They both played a brilliant match. But what Andy’s been through he was playing exceptional and should be very proud of himself."
Murray has been constantly questioned over retirement since having a second surgery on his hip back in 2019.

The two-time Wimbledon winner has reached the third round in two Grand Slam tournaments since.
Speaking back in July, he said: "I mean, I have an idea in my head of when I would like to stop. That's not definitive.
"A lot of that is just I think it is good to do that so you can start planning a little bit.

"I'm keeping an open mind to that. Yeah, I do have an idea of when I'd like to stop, yeah."
When he does call it a day, Murray will go down as one of the all time greats for British sport having banked over £50million in prize money.
