Meet Annabel Angel – gorgeous Brit golf influencer and LIV host with 300k fans

Annabel Angel may be relatively new to the golf influencing space but she's made quite an impact in a short time.

The Brit was born into a golfing family as her father was a PGA golf professional with her childhood revolving around the sport in which she excelled at. She began playing competitive golf at the age of five and grew up to captain the Essex Girls’ Team to victory in the County championships in 2014. During her time at Loughborough University where she studied English and Business, she was a member of the school's golf squad.

She broke barriers during her tenure with the team, as during her first year she was the only girl selected to join the team as she went on to compete against men from other universities. Angel's journey into social media began when watching the Ladies British Open in 2018.

That same year, she created an Instagram account dedicated to golf and inside a couple of months, it skyrocketed and she gained over 100,000 followers. Five years on, Angel has 297,000 followers on the social media platform and is also a presenter for LIV Golf. In an interview in 2020, she told the New York Post, that she had no inkling or intention of becoming a fully-fledged golf influencer before her content began taking off.

“I started my golf account as a way of tracking my own golfing progress,” Angel said. “I had no intention of it ever expanding into something bigger. It has now, and I’m just sharing my progress on a wider scale, which is fantastic. I think that’s what people really enjoy about my account.”

Angel opened up about the influence her family has had on her love of golf as she added: “My whole family plays, my dad’s a golf professional, so he taught me from a young age.

"I think I picked up a club probably at age 2. I used to have the mini plastic ones, and I had a cut down wooden one, which I still have, which is quite sweet."
