San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is currently in the league’s concussion protocol, head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Wednesday.
Shanahan said Purdy first began exhibiting concussion-like symptoms during the team’s plane ride home following their 22-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night.
If Purdy is unable to play in Week 8, veteran Sam Darnold would be in line to start Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
