Football fans are convinced Trent Alexander-Arnold shushed own fans after goal

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold had quite the Sunday afternoon after he helped the Reds to a stunning 4-3 comeback win over Fulham at Anfield.

The 25-year-old was at the centre of everything, seemingly opening the scoring in the first half through a sensational free-kick, before netting a late winner on 88 minutes.

While replays showed the ball struck the underside of the crossbar to hit the back of Fulham keeper Bernd Leno for what will likely go down as an own goal, the England international did manage to bag the winner, just seconds after Wataru Endo had equalised for the Reds to make it 3-3.

Following the free-kick, Alexander-Arnold ran towards the Liverpool faithful at Anfield, pulling out a shushing celebration with a knowing smile on his face as his team-mates rushed to congratulate him.

But, some football fans on social media were slightly perplexed by the Liverpool full-back's choice of celebration, questioning why on earth Alexander-Arnold was shushing his own supporters.

One fan on social media wrote: "Bros at anfield shushing the home crowd." A second added: "Bros got no idea what’s going on bless him keep being special lad."

A third commented: "did he just shush the anfield crowd?" with a fourth writing in agreement: "He’s shushing his own fans." A fifth said: "Brother who exactly is he shushing?" However, it seems as though Alexander-Arnold might be about to make the shush his trademark celebration, meaning fans will be seeing it for years to come.
