Jordan Pickford led away as Everton and Newcastle stars clash after Toffees win

A bust-up between Newcastle and Everton players occurred after the Toffees earned a 3-0 win.

Sean Dyche's men moved out of the Premier League relegation zone for the first time since being handed their 10-point deduction in Thursday's (December 7) clash. Second-half goals from Dwight McNeil, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Beto secured the three points over the Champions League side.

Everton have now moved up to 17th in the table with Luton Town taking their place in the relegation zone. Jordan Pickford was particularly jubilant after the full-time whistle blew as he performed a knee-sliding celebration in honour of the victory and the clean sheet.

However, his celebrations may have sparked the clash between the sides as he approached by an angry Bruno Guimaraes as the pair got into a heated argument. Players from both teams made their way to the duo to separate them with around 13 players involving themselves in the quarrel.

Pickford was taken away from the action from his team-mates while Newcastle's Joelinton failed to get his temper under control as he had to be dragged away by the club's coaching staff following their comprehensive defeat.

Fans on social media noticed the genesis of the clash with one X (formerly known as Twitter) user wrote: "Dunno what Pickford said, but Joelinton was not happy!" while a second stated Pickford began the entire row as their comment read: "All started with Pickford’s Sunderland connections."

A third fan also took aim at the England goalkeeper as they added: "Pickford must be the worst person to lose to the man is an absolute wind up merchant." It's a second consecutive victory for Everton who are in a vein of good form, as they've lost just one of their last six Premier League games.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will certainly be counting his lucky stars for the win after he missed a glorious chance in the first-half to put his side ahead. Blazing over the bar from just four yards out, the 26-year-old caught plenty of flak on social media for his howler.

One fan branded his gaffe as: "THE WORST MISS IVE EVER SEEN" while another said: "That’s an unforgivable miss from Calvert-Lewin. You just cannot miss those".
