Thomas Tuchel has warned Manchester United that Harry Kane is ‘looking forward to’ their upcoming Champions League clash.

Tuchel’s Bayern Munich will travel to Old Trafford on Tuesday night for the final game in their Champions League group – with the German side already qualified for the next round.

United, on the other hand, have it all to play for. In order to progress, they must beat Bayern while hoping for a draw between FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

And the task facing Erik ten Hag’s side looks even less surmountable after Tuchel suggested former Spurs star Kane was keen on returning to England for the game.

According to The Sun, he said: ‘Yes, for him 100 per cent. He is a winner — he is a champion.

‘It’s nice to go back to England and to Old Trafford. Harry will love it I think and is looking forward to it.

‘Harry is a top pro and a fantastic guy who has adjusted very well to life in Germany.’

The German champions were handed dealt their first league loss in the 2023-24 campaign in the form of a 5-1 thrashing by Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

Kane was unable to prevent Bayern’s heavy defeat, however, Tuchel has still insisted that the England captain has settled in well in Germany.

The result sees Tuchel’s side lose ground on league leaders Bayer Leverkusen – who now hold a three point advantage at the summit of the Bundesliga table.

Ex-Chelsea manager Tuchel added: ‘Life in Munich is a good life. He is fluent in German! Munich is a safe city — a beautiful city.

‘We have a lot of nature and a lot of golf courses for Harry when he has some time off. And everybody speaks English, which is good for him, that helps him a lot.’

Tuchel has claimed that Bayern Munich ‘need a reaction’ heading into their clash with Manchester United, after suffering defeat in the Bundesliga.

United will be looking to bounce back after their 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday

According to SPORT1, manager Tuchel said: ‘We underestimated the danger of the situation and completely gave the game away very early on.

‘I have confidence in my team. There’s no point in badmouthing everything now. It continues on Tuesday. Old Trafford. We need a reaction’.

Meanwhile, central midfielder Leon Goretzka echoed the thoughts of the Bayern first-team boss, as he issued a rallying cry to his team-mates.

‘That’s the beauty of football,’ he said, according to Sport Studio. ‘Things go quickly. For us on Tuesday it’s about showing a reaction.
